XENOFOBIA
XENOPHOBIA
Birds know no borders – they fly over countries neglecting the different names by which they are pointed out. Fires, earthquakes, storms, winds, sounds and lights, also wander through the earth's crust, despising those theoretical and invisible lines; Unlike the horizon line, which is seen but does not exist, the border exists but is not seen – think of the most theoretical of all, for example, maritime borders. The border is an obstacle and like all obstacles it is always ahead (see image below). The border is a theoretical line sometimes underlined by a river, a cliff, a mountain, or by walls, railings and sharp barbs of wire or by nothing. The border tries to contain a country, to caulk it, to prevent languages, cultures, habits from spilling over the land alike, from creolizing – on that side of the line, profit, on this, greed; on that side, banana, on this, plane tree. It is a factory of strangers – it produces strangers where before only neighbours lived. The border tries an impermeabilization – it is when two zones, two environments, touch each other without wanting to be indistinct; a prudish line, therefore. Intimacy is when two things lose their solid and haughty limit; Intimacy is not having a clear boundary between things, between bodies. Intimacy draws the previously continuous line with a dashed line – a line with gaps, holes, voids, porous, through which one body can intrude into the other. Even the thinnest line has two sides, any line, even if not complete, is a division – a line is a screen; On this side I take care of the wall, on the other side, you do.
The border is, therefore, the great creator of foreigners, of the strange, of the distant and unrecognizable; in a certain sense they are also attributes of what is new. The phobia of the xenophobe comes from this aversion to the new and the different; For this very reason, the xenophobe is necessarily conservative, afraid of novelty and difference. In the Etymological Dictionary it is read that the prefix xeno is an "element of cultured composition that translates the ideas of foreign, strange; from the Greek Xénos, 'foreigner; that does not know; strange, unusual, astonishing, surprising; guest, stranger to whom hospitality is given'. The inhospitable is that which is not hospitable. An inhospitable country is, in short, the desire of xenophobes.

Zurzo.

Black is not the colour of the end of things; For this I choose the grey. Even black coal, when it is burned, when it finally runs out, when it is exhausted, when it finally loses all potential energy, turns to ash, to grey. Black is not the end, the end is grey. The ashes have always been something else, they are always a result of a transformation. Ashes are not created from scratch. This 'z' of ash[1] seems, in fact, to be linked to the end of things, when things stop being, stop working – zero, hazard, zilch, zombie. Despite everything, there is no real news of any Phoenix. Even the 'zzz' that symbolizes sleep is tangent at the end, as Quignard explains in Dying of Thinking, "The living touch death every time they sleep." In a recent newspaper I read the caption of an image of a refugee camp, "Richard Mbagaro, supervisor of the camp for internally displaced people in Kigonze, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, appeals through a megaphone to residents to wash their hands with soap or ashes in the face of the Ebola outbreak in the country." In fact, it seems that in situations of total precariousness, washing your hands with ashes (clean, such as from untreated wood) can reduce microorganisms, working as a light abrasive.
This last entry on the last letter of the alphabet ends with the last word of the dictionary. Zurzir, which figuratively means to reprimand harshly, to criticize harshly. Zurzo (I rebuke).
